Shop RootleWhy sniffing matters
Their nose istheir superpower.
Dogs explore the world nose first. Giving that nose a job is one of the simplest ways to help a busy dog feel happy and settled.
-
Built to forage
Before food bowls, dogs sniffed and searched for every meal. Rootle brings that natural instinct back into their day.
-
Brain work is tiring work
Sniffing and problem-solving use a lot of mental energy, so a short session can leave your dog pleasantly tired.
-
A calmer, happier pup
Research on scent games suggests sniffing can help dogs feel more positive. Many owners notice a more settled dog afterwards.
Rootle adds to walks and playtime, it doesn’t replace them. For serious anxiety, always check in with your vet or a trainer.

Every busy dog parent deserves a little less guilt. Every dog deserves a job to do.
Our story
Rootle started with one lonely little dog.
Before Rootle existed, I rented a room in the home of a woman who was always on the go. She ran a business, led committees, and juggled more than most people ever could. She loved her small white dog dearly, but her days were long, and walks didn’t always happen.
Those of us living there helped when we could, but we worked full time too. And the little dog only ever really wanted her. I’d often find it sitting alone in a corner, quiet and unsettled, with tear-stained marks under its eyes on its white fur.
I couldn’t stop thinking about it. That dog wasn’t being naughty. It was bored and lonely, with long hours and nothing to do. I genuinely wanted to help.
Rootle is my answer to that feeling. It isn’t a replacement for your love, your time or your walks. It’s a simple way to give your dog’s nose and mind something good to do, while you’re nearby getting through a busy day.
With love,
Team Rootle
